A Message from Our Principal, Johanne O’Sullivan

Johanne O'Sullivan

I am delighted to welcome you into our school community. As the Principal in a newly established school I am enjoying the development of relationships with students, parents and the local community.

Shellybanks ETNS is a happy, vibrant school where all children will be given the opportunity of learning in a caring, stimulating environment. We aim to give your child the opportunity to develop into a well rounded individual.

The warm, welcoming and caring environment that exists in Shellybanks ETNS has been nurtured by our pupils, teachers, parents/guardians, PTA and Board of Management since the school opened in 2014.

Since opening Shellybanks ETNS has become a vibrant city school that emphasises active learning and mutual respect is at the core of what we do. We believe it is important that as a parent / guardian you feel welcome in the school. Education is a partnership between home and school with a shared responsibility based on trust and mutual understanding. The co-operation and participation of parents with our school in the education of their child is positively encouraged.

Our new name reflects the planned location of our permanent school building, in the Roslyn Park site, in Sandymount. We are currently located on the grounds of the RDS, on Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge. We are looking forward to many great years ahead in our new location. This is planned for September 2019.

Creative Schools

Our creative schools’ coordinator Blaithin has been in to visit each class about the initiative. The children voted on their favourite topics of interest. We will look at these results to guide us to our next step.

Well-being

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We are focusing on well-being for the rest of the month of March and April. The children will have a calendar in their homework folder and we hope parents will join their child in completing as many well-being activities as possible throughout this time.

Our School is Growing

Since opening in 2014, we have added a new class each year. For the 2018/2019 school year, we now have Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class, Second Class and Third Class.

We have some spaces for this school year 2018/2019!

We have a small number of spaces in each of our classes for this school year 2018/2019. If you or anyone you know is looking for a place in our fantastic school, we have spaces available in Senior Infants, 1st class, 2nd class or 3rd class, tell them to contact us by email info@shellybanksetns.ie as soon as possible!
